 NLC and PENGASSAN Join Forces Against Dangote Refinery: What Is Really Going On?

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has joined forces with PENGASSAN once again, this time directing their focus toward Dangote Refinery.

According to reports, PENGASSAN’s delegation was led by its President, Festus Osifo, during recent discussions. Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mohammed Dingyadi, has also been involved in the situation.

It seems like there is a coordinated war against Dangote. But we must ask ourselves—why now?

Many Nigerian youths might be thinking:

"Dangote didn’t give me anything," or

"He’s just doing his business, it doesn’t concern me."

That may be true to some extent. But let’s not ignore the fact that Dangote is helping Nigeria in one way or the other—especially in reducing dependency on fuel imports.

Let’s also consider the real reason behind NLC and PENGASSAN’s actions. Their main aim and obligation is to ensure fair and controlled pricing of fuel and diesel for Nigerians. But here’s the real question:

How much is the NNPC selling fuel and diesel?

How much is Dangote selling the same products?

Which of the two prices is actually lower and in the interest of the people?

Nigerian youth, it is time to wake up from sleep. We must ask critical questions and not allow ourselves to be used blindly.

This is not just about Dangote, but about holding every institution accountable—whether it’s NLC, PENGASSAN, or government bodies.

Let’s stand up for truth, not propaganda.
